New Paper Published in Biotechnology and Bioengineering
A new manuscript by Inaba, West and Banta describing new conditions for microbially influenced corrosion of stainless steels was published in Biotechnology and Bioengineering. We have previously demonstrated conditions where Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans cells could enable corrosion of low grade stainless steel under aerobic conditions. Here we expand this line of research by altering media formulations and overexpressing the endogenous rus gene which enabled enhanced corrosion of higher grade steel samples.
