New Article Published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology

A new manuscript by Herishko, Zurier and Banta was published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology.  This manuscript was selected as an Editor's Pick and describes the expression and characterization of a new lactonase enzyme (AiiF) from Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans. This enzyme can be used to reduce biofilm formation by bioleaching microbes, and this activity may be leveraged to enhance future biomining activities.
