A new Perspective manuscript entitled "The importance and future of biochemical engineering" by Whitehead, Banta et al was published in Biotechnology and Bioengineering. This manuscript arose from topical discussions held at the Biochemical and Molecular Engineering XXI conference focused on “The Next Generation of Biochemical and Molecular Engineering: The role of emerging technologies in tomorrow's products and processes".
