A new manuscript by Abdallah, Solanki, and Banta describing the insertion of the calcium dependent beta roll peptide domain into the thermostable alcohol dehydrogenase D enzyme was published in ACS Catalysis. This new chimeric protein exhibits unprecedented calcium-dependent regulation of nicotinamide cofactor selectivity.
