New Paper Published in Protein Engineering, Design and Selection

A new manuscript by Ozbakir, Garcia, and Banta describing the creation of a new enzyme by the fusion of two existing cofactor-dependent enzymes was published in Protein Engineering, Design and Selection.  The parent enzymes both use NAD(H) as a cofactor, and this was tethered by PEG chains to the new fusion protein.  Thus the new enzyme is cofactor-independent and exhibits predictable kinetic behavior.
