New Paper Published in the Journal of the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society

A new manuscript by Campbell, Vardner, Zhang, Banta and West describing conditions for the electrochemical reduction of chalcopyrite was published in the Journal of the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society. Chalcopyrite is usually processed via oxidation, and this manuscript explores instead the mechanisms involved in the electrochemical reduction of chalcopyrite leading to the formation of chalcocite and covelite.  This may represent an alternative approach to copper recovery from low grade chalcopyrite ores.
