Multiple Presentations at the Annual AIChE Meeting

The Banta Lab was well represented at the 2017 AIChE Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.  Professor Banta gave a keynote talk in the Biocatalysis session entitled “Extreme Makeover: Engineering the Thermostable Alcohol Dehydrogenase D (AdhD) Protein Scaffold for New Applications”.  He also gave an invited talk in honor of his Postdoctoral advisor, Martin Yarmush, entitled “The Importance of Thinking Big in Academia”.  Walaa Abdallah also gave a talk at the meeting entitled “Insertion of a Calcium-Binding Beta Roll Domain into a Thermostable Alcohol Dehydrogenase Enables Allosteric Control over Cofactor Specificity”.
